If I Had a Daughter I Would Take Her to the Ocean; performed by THE HEARTTHROB: the [placeholder]
To touch, to listen, to hear: Scrapbook Rhapsody, a fine print letterpress book in eight parts, starting in April 2025, each book will be revealed in excerpted audio book files for download, and in fine print, sewn, limited edition letterpress books. These precious books and sound files support sensory connections and display the interwoven voices exploring the materiality of transparency, impression, and text as image.
Scrapbook Rhapsody audio book files are put to music and sound engineered by the author, Sarah Teitel, adding dimension to the intricate and intimate journey of a young girl, a family and the outcomes of stress and strain on women in a postmodern pastiche.
With a cast of five voices as characters, the story comes alive.
[PLACEHOLDER]; performed by THE LEVELLER: the one who looks and says what she sees, urgency spurring her to blunt efficiency
[PLACEHOLDER]; performed by THE SCHOLAR: the investigator, the reader, the parser, the analyzer
Someone Else; performed by THE PASSENGER: the one who travels through history—her history—in a sort of psychic pod, immersed in events and removed from them at once
Old Men Love Me; performed by THE ECSTATIC: the one who spins words to spin herself, and in spinning herself, achieves escape velocity: lifts from the intolerable situation into a rapture of language
