Glacier Melt Matters / Prize Inside
French Letter Society
Glacier Melt Matters / Prize Inside This collaborative piece positions original poetry by Sonja Greckol with assemblages by N. Moskwa. While Greckol's poetry brings us to face our manifest concerns for the environment, Moskwa's works draw on the whimsical nature of her Canadian childhood, while being inspired by Louise Bourgeois' spiders as a maternal archetype. For this project, she created over 100 individual works, each of them with a unique container for a surprise: a tiny 3D charm reminding us that we do not know the future. Prize Inside incorporates materials that were within the artist's reach: clothing tags, vintage gift wrap from the sixties, postal receipts from parcels her parents sent to Ukraine in the 70s, vintage Laurentian pencil crayons, and handmade paper.
